Reconstituted

It gives the color of red and purple.

It gives us the tight, overlapping folds, ruffled edges,

energy latent and coiled,

rising from the rich soil,

organic flesh wrent

by insect,

by bacteria

by fungus

into black fines.

The greatest explosion

is the one of re-birth.

All those desiccated remnants of life,

waiting

for their moment

to be reconstituted.

An eon of hope

that this time

something will come

from nothing.
